Company Description

Sahel Investment Partners is a regional private equity fund management and financial services company operating in the French-speaking Sahel belt.
Its objective is to provide its investor partners with a strong long-term return on investment, by investing in equity or quasi-equity in private companies that are active in the Sahelian countries of the CEMAC and UEMOA zone.
Sahel Investment Partners is looking to hire an Investment Director.

General missions and environment of the position

Reporting to the Fund Manager, the Investment Director is mainly responsible for ensuring the sourcing of projects, the negotiation of investment projects and the active management of a portfolio of investments.
The Investment Director intelligently uses her financial expertise as well as her knowledge of private equity to support her company in its future projects.
She manages the strength and financial stability of the company by directing and monitoring investments.
She works in collaboration with Investment Managers to lead the preparation of opportunity study files before presenting them to the investment committee.
She is a real conductor, in fact, she regularly evaluates projects qualitatively and quantitatively, supports project leaders in order to determine the most appropriate financial structures for them.
Her ultimate goal is to guarantee the quality and profitability of their portfolio. In addition, she is also responsible for negotiating and carrying out investments.
In addition, she studies equity investment opportunities: qualitative and financial monitoring of investments, anticipation of difficulties and corrective actions, reporting, etc.
The Investment Director must have negotiation, analysis and synthesis skills to perform these functions well.

The position is based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Travel may be considered.

Detailed missions of the position

• Investment:
• Identification, analysis and monitoring of acquisition operations
• Analysis of the legal and financial structuring of operations by carrying out financial modeling
• Ensure active sourcing of projects;
• Conduct due diligence, negotiations, structuring and assembly of investment projects:
• Project evaluation (quantitative and qualitative analysis of projects – strategies, economic models, etc.)
• Support project leaders to define the most appropriate financial structuring
• Preparation of files for investment committees
• Negotiation and implementation of the investment
• Drafting of project presentation notes
• Participation in meetings with sellers and external advisors as well as in the review and negotiation of legal documents
• Monitoring of investments:
• Ensure precise monitoring of investments involving preparation/participation in governance bodies:
• Qualitative and financial monitoring of investments
• Participation in governance bodies
• Anticipation of difficulties and proposal of corrective actions
• Reporting

Education, experience and required profile

• Business school, engineering school or Master 2, preferably with a specialization in finance or business strategy, management, accounting.
• At least 5 years of experience, in functions with a financial and/or strategic connotation, and in connection with the world of SMEs (financing, audit, advisory, entrepreneurship).
• Personal experiences of entrepreneurship, investment and/or support for SMEs are particularly sought after.
